
Juneteenth Port Shutdown – Rally & March
All West Coast Ports will shut down on June 19th in honor of Juneteenth – the anniversary of the end of slavery. And to protest the racial police violence that has claimed the lives of George Floyd, Charleena Lyles, Che Taylor, John T. Williams, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade and countless others.
Please join Seattle’s A. Philip Randolph Institute & the International Longshore and Warehouse Union for a rally at pier 46 at 10 am followed by a march to Washington Department of Corrections (1550 4th Ave S).
The ILWU will also be marching TO the Pier 46 rally from the Local 19 Hall parking lot (3440 E Marginal Way S), starting there at 9 AM.
Supporters are welcome on both legs of the march, as well as the rally.
Please wear a mask, bring sanitizer, keep safe social distance as much as possible, and respect the leadership of this march’s designated conductors.
