A number of unions are participating in today’s National Day of Action in 20 cities, demanding the Senate pass the HEROES Act to provide PPE, essential pay and extended unemployment benefits. “The National Strike/Day of Action is a worker-driven action to demand that bosses and elected officials address the systemic racism that drives economic inequality in this country,” said CWA, which is joining SEIU, the Teamsters, AFT, and community-based organizations to promote the action. “We are demanding guaranteed sick pay, affordable health care, strengthened health and safety protections for essential workers, and stronger organizing rights for all workers.” Check out #StrikeForBlackLives on Twitter for details.
