More than 13,000 U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) employees are facing furloughs. These are the men and women that help to properly process requests for asylum, visas and citizenship. This furlough is going to hit over 70% of these workers!
We need Congress to ACT NOW and approve $1.2 billion for the agency in order to keep our bargaining unit members on the job. Being furloughed during a global health crisis would be detrimental to workers and their ability to care for their families. It will also make it nearly impossible to support a legal system of immigration and refugee process!
Go here now to tell Congress to halt the furloughs!
