Pittsburgh Post Gazette Workers Still On Strike – Need Support!

June 1, 2023

For those of you who attended Saturday’s fundraising event for striking workers at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette at the Squirrel Hill Sports Bar, thanks so much. The trivia was great fun, the ticket auction was a hit – especially for those lucky winners – and the comedians were hilarious. But the support – personally and financially – was even better. The event raised more than $1,300 to help us sustain our fight against a greedy employer.
As we enter our eighth month on strike, that money goes directly to help strikers buy food, pay our monthly rents/mortgages and cover any unexpected expenses.

If you were unable to attend, you can still make a donation to the striker fund at https://www.unionprogress.com/donate/.

On Tuesday night, several of us striking workers were also honored at the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania’s 59th Golden Quills at the Rivers Casino on the North Shore. While most of our recognition came for the Post-Gazette last year, we continue to apply that same talent to the Pittsburgh Union Progress.

Can you support us in that mission and this strike today?

In Solidarity,

Ed Blazina
