Detroit Demonstration Demands Ceasefire Over Gaza: On Wed. Oct. 25, 2023, hundreds of people gathered outside the offices of Michigan Senator Gary Peters to demand that he and other officials end their support for the genocidal onslaught against the Palestinians in Gaza. The crowd later marched through the streets to the offices of the other Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow in order to make the same demands.
Over 8,000 people have been killed in Gaza since Oct. 7 while the administration of President Joe Biden has shipped more weapons to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) refusing to even call for a ceasefire and the opening of a humanitarian corridor to halt the starvation of the Palestinians trapped in the Gaza Strip. A broad coalition of organizations participated in the march and rally including Jewish Voice for Peace, Moratorium NOW!
