Take Action: Tell Your Member of Congress to Support TPS/DED for Palestine

Washington, D.C. | adc.org | November 7, 2023 – The people of Palestine are under bombardment from Israel, and face an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. In light of the ongoing humanitarian crisis and war, Members of both the House and the Senate, led by Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Representative Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), are preparing a formal request urging DHS Secretary to designate the Palestinian territories for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and/or authorize Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) for Palestinians present in the United States.

In Gaza the current onslaught is being described as a genocide, at the same time Palestinians in the West Bank are under attack from Israeli settlers. In addition to the war, there is a humanitarian crisis across the Gaza Strip as medical supplies, food, water, and fuel cannot get into Gaza, leaving millions without the necessities needed to survive.

We urge you to contact your elected officials now and request they sign-on and support the request for TPS and DED immediately.  TPS and DED offer temporary relief from removal and work authorization for nationals of Palestine who are already in the U.S., and are unable to return safely to their home country.

ADC is currently working with a coalition of organizations and attorneys from across the country to push for TPS and DED designation. If you are a national of Palestine in the U.S. and have an immigration question, please email the ADC Legal Department to legal@adc.org
