Tuscan Hall in Waukesha is hosting an event called “Awake To Righteousness A Call To Action” on Thursday, November 16 at 6:30 pm. This event is featuring Matt Trewhella, the pastor of Mercy Seat Church in Brookfield. This church organized a protest at the PFLAG Waukesha Picnic in August, one where Mercy Seat members harassed families of PFLAG members relentlessly, and they are clear about their bigotry and hatred of the LGBTQ+ Community. One of the protestors at the PFLAG picnic told me that gay men should be subjected to capital punishment, that’s how extreme their beliefs are.
It’s important that we let them know that hate has no home in Waukesha County, and remind the LGBTQ+ community that people are people, free to love and be loved without judgement, discrimination or hatred. This is a rally in support of anyone who’s hated because of whom they love.
