While we welcomed reprieve for Gazans who survived 47 days of relentless bombing by Israeli Forces, the so-called “humanitarian pause” did not amount to peace or calm for Palestinians.
While airstrikes were paused, hundreds of Palestinians in the West Bank were arrested and detained by the IOF, bringing the total number of Palestinians detained by the Occupation up to a remarkable 7,000, including children. Many of these Palestinians are held without trial or charge under a practice of Israeli military law called administrative detention.
During this webinar, you will hear from Palestinian attorney with Addameer, Tala Nasir, Palestinian Activist and Life Coach, Arab Barghouti, who is also the son of political prisoner, Marwan Barghouti, as well as other family members of Palestinians who remain unjustly detained.
A Letter Issued by the National Prisoners Movement
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,
An open letter from the national prisoners’ movement regarding the retaliatory assault faced by prisoners in the jails of the “israeli” occupation.
To the patient masses of our Palestinian people and our brave resistance,
To our Arab and Islamic nation,
To the Qatari and Egyptian mediators,
To the International Committee of the Red Cross,
To the United Nations and the countries of the free world,
Since October 7th, the zionist enemy has begun its vengeful war against our Palestinian people in Gaza, the West Bank, and the prisons, in order to cover up the resounding defeat it faced due to the special military operation Al-Aqsa Flood, carried out by the Palestinian resistance against zionist military sites around Gaza, in support of Al-Aqsa and the prisoners, and in response to the enemy’s ongoing crimes against our people.
The zionist occupation has committed heinous crimes against prisoners in prison yards, simultaneously committing acts of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity against our people in Gaza and the West Bank, with international cover from the forces of evil and colonialism, led by the United States of America. The zionist aggression surpasses all criminals in history and the modern era with its crimes, representing the phenomenon of the new Nazis and fascists in this world.
Therefore, we wish to affirm the following:
Firstly: We extend our utmost respect and admiration to our patient and struggling Palestinian people and their brave resistance in all parts of the homeland, particularly in the proud Gaza.
Secondly: We call upon the Qatari and Egyptian mediators, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the United Nations, and the countries of the free world to pressure the occupation to stop its vengeful assault (https://t.me/PalestineResist/20959) and the systematic crimes it is launching against us in prisons, as the zionist occupation has subjected us to dangerous detention conditions, transforming prisons into lethal iron graves, carrying out systematic assassinations and executions of prisoners, leading to the martyrdom of several (https://t.me/PalestineResist/20059). The zionist jailers threaten us daily with more executions. They declare to us that they have instructions to kill us if we protest against the punitive measures against us.
As we make this call to you, we do not ask you to free us from prisons: that is the task of the resistance and it will take care of it. But until God grants us freedom, we ask you to stand by your moral, humanitarian, and international responsibilities to stop the occupier’s criminal acts against us and to stop this Nazi-fascist vengeful assault against us.
Thirdly: We express our pride and appreciation for the humane treatment (https://t.me/PalestineResist/21097) of enemy prisoners by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, while the occupation races against time to indulge in our blood (https://t.me/PalestineResist/21153?single), torment us (https://t.me/RNN_Prisoners/581), and commit crimes against us in prisons (https://t.me/RNN_Prisoners/555), and the frantic efforts by many parties within the zionist entity to pass a law for the execution of prisoners in the zionist Knesset.
