Part time faculty make up more than half of the current faculty working at MATC, but the pay and benefits for part-time instructors remain inequitable. We are rallying to show solidarity with, and foster appreciation for, the MATC part-time employees–and to call on the college to affirmatively address our concerns:
-Full respect
-Better pay
-Pay for onboarding, meetings and training
-No pay reduction for summer classes
-Fair assignments
-Assignment security
-Compensation for last-minute assignment cancellations
-Path to full-time opportunities
The event will be held on March 14 (Pi Day) outside the S Building at noon. Thanks to an organizing grant from AFT-WI, the rally will now include PIZZA! So save the date and plan to stop by for a slice!
This is a rally to support PT faculty–ALL are welcome and encouraged to attend.
