Remembering Rachel Corrie: A Benefit for Gaza Emergency Relief via the Middle East Children’s Alliance

Join us to remember the life of Rachel Corrie, an American peace activist who was crushed to death in Rafah on March 16, 2003 when Israel drove a US-made armored Caterpillar D-9 bulldozer over her as she stood against the demolition of a Palestinian home.
As Israel crushes millions of lives in Palestine, we believe that Rachel’s wish now would be that we act to end the genocide in Gaza. The event will include readings of Rachel’s letters home, a video message from her parents Craig and Cindy Corrie, and time to write and call congress and the White House to demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire, a stop to military aid to Israel, and an end to the siege of Gaza to allow in unlimited and sufficient humanitarian aid.
Music by Ensemble Shamaali, featuring oud, drum and flute. Dessert and beverages will be served; Palestinian children’s books, crafts, olive oil and olive oil soap will be available for purchase.
Free and open to the public. Donations to the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA) for immediate emergency aid to Gaza will be gratefully welcomed.
