UPDATE ON THE UW LIBRARY MALL PROTEST ENCAMPMENT
After the police broke up the Library Mall protest and detained 34 people early Wednesday morning, the encampment was quickly rebuilt. A meeting was finally held between the Chancellor and the students and it is reported that police action is halted for the time being. WORT Radio has this excellent coverage. The Daily Cardinal blog is also a good source of information. And here is a good collection of pictures from Madison and Milwaukee protests.
Meanwhile, anyone who can come down to the Library Mall protest please do so. SJP posts a daily schedule with updates on Instagram.
Tonight there will be a Liberation Shabbat sponsored by Jewish Voice for Peace beginning at 7:30. Also, if anyone is experiencing harassment by counter-protestors or others, JVP is tracking those incidents and asks that people report them by emailing
madison@jewishvoiceforpeace.org.
