Dear All,
We hope you can join us for an upcoming event, From Detroit to Palestine and Back: Intersections, Solidarity, and WSU Student Activism, this Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 6:30 PM! The event will be at the First Unitarian-Universalist Church of Detroit located at 4605 Cass Avenue, Detroit, MI, 48201.This family-friendly event aims to foster a dynamic community conversation that celebrates and strengthens the bonds of activism and solidarity between Detroit and Palestine. By highlighting the intersections of Black and Arab history, self-determination, and intersectional social justice, we seek to educate and inspire participants through a diverse program of activities. The program will include speakers and stories, short films and art, music, and interactive activities. We will also have drinks and food, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options.
The building is wheelchair accessible via a ramp to the main entrance from the church parking lot adjacent to the sanctuary. This lot is accessible from Forest Avenue. We strive to host an inclusive, accessible event for everyone to engage fully. To be respectful of those with allergies and environmental sensitivities, we ask that you please refrain from wearing strong fragrances.
Sincerely, Hands Off Our Students! Coalition and Faculty and Staff for Justice in Palestine
