Join WROC Workers at Day of Action

In February of 2023 workers at WROC voted to join NABET-CWA. Workers there had been organizing among each other for some time to finally win a significant voice on the job. In the 15 months following, the owners of WROC, Nexstar Media Group, have repeatedly refused to recognize the election and refused to bargain. The NLRB has sided every time with NABET-CWA and yet Nexstar continues to refuse their legally-mandated responsibility to bargain.

On the 75th anniversary of the station, WROC union members will be picketing in front of the station and urge all union allies to join them!

Join D&C Workers for Regular Picket!

Every Wednesday evening at 5pm, workers at the Democrat & Chronicle will hold a picket demanding a fair contract. They have been in negotiations for months, and recently went on strike during the total solar eclipse to move the company towards a meaningful resolution. Instead, Gannett played games and bargained in obvious and bold bad faith. The Newsguild Members at the D&C continue to file charges for each moment of Unfair Labor Practices. But they aren’t waiting for the NLRB to solve this for them, they are continuing to organize. We’re asking all Labor Council members to join them this Wednesday. Going forward, we are organizing an adopt-a-picket, where locals will join the Newsguild for their assigned date.
