A protest was held by UAW UC workers at the UC Regents meeting in San Francisco UCSF Mission Bay campus on 7/19/23. The UC management and Regents have launched a major attack on UAW UC workers. They are flagrantly violating the union contract and arrested UCSD UAW members for felony chalking. UAW members talked about these attacks and were also joined by Southern California Unite HERE 11 Co-president Ada Briceno who talked about the systemic racism and union busting at the Laguna Cliff Marriott owned by UC though the Blackstone hedge fund. Blackstone controls over $1 trillion dollars. Democratic governor Gavin Newsom who is an ex-officio member of the Regents has been completely silent about the arrests and union busting at UC.
