Sun Sept 15, 3 – 5 pm — The 2024 International Democracy Day Celebration in Milwaukee. Central United Methodist Church, 639 N. 25th Street. Free and open to the Public. A non-partisan event. Co-sponsored by the United Nations Association of Greater Milwaukee. The International Day of Democracy was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2007 to promote and uphold democratic principles. The day’s goals include:
• Advocating for democracy as a fundamental human right
• Promoting democracy as a key component of effective governance and global peace
• Assessing the global status of democracy
• Mobilizing political will and resources to address global problems
