Greetings All,
Leonard was let out of lockdown yesterday after ten solid days of 24/7 confinement.
Leonard specifically asked us to convey his heartfelt thanks to the generous person who sent him $40 for his birthday. This small act of kindness greatly lifted his spirits during the lockdown.
His 80th Birthday Statement will be released soon. He regrets that he could not release anything on his birthday and wants to express his appreciation for all that gathered to honor him.
Missed Leonard’s birthday gathering? You can watch it here: https://tinyurl.com/ResolutePeltiers80th THANK YOU to our brilliant, impassioned speakers, and to all who gathered to honor and support Leonard Peltier
Democracy Now did a piece on Leonard while he was in lockdown:
They had a clip asking Leonard what he would say to Obama. In true Leonard style, he said, “Stop these wars. Quit killing people! And let me out!”
Leonard would benefit from letters. He has been locked down for the better part of four years. LARGE BOLD font—he is experiencing intermittent blindness. If you understand his sacrifice, it would do him good to hear from you. Or a good joke. Even a bad joke. I print out memes and send them – he gets black-and-white copies.
Leonard’s lead counsel, Jenipher Jones, and her co-counsel, Moira Meltzer-Cohen are preparing for battle – with Leonard, they are taking the court to court. The true work is intensifying.
Everyone knows why Leonard Peltier went to prison. The FBI’s war against the American Indian Movement, the paramilitary takeover of the Lakota Nation. We will be holding a webinar in October explaining why Leonard is STILL in prison, long past his lawful release date, and how we can fight that.
These lockdowns are tortuous and must end. If you have it in you to bother the Judiciary Committee, formed to ensure the DOJ adheres to Constitutional Law, there is contact information and a sample letter explaining WHY this is their duty.

We will be making several announcements over the next few weeks. Leonard Peltier needs that mass public outcry and we intend to give it to him with your help.
We are also calling on all muralists! If you can paint and have a building handy, we will send you high-resolution artwork of Leonard’s flag.
