Racine Coalition for Peace and Justice
We will Stand for Palestine and hold our International Peace Dove 8 foot tall puppet wearing the Keffiyeh this Saturday the 21st, as part of the UN International Day of Peace. We will be on the NW corner of HWYS 20 and 31, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm in Racine. We will have our Peace Dove , flags, the World Peace Banner and signs.
OUR PEACE DOVE PUPPET. Was designed for Jane Goodall, a UN Messenger for Peace. George and Lois Alfsen got the pattern for it, we built it at Siena Center, Sr. Alice was the organizer.
OUR WORLD PEACE BANNER. In the aftermath of 9-11, the US flag became a symbol of unity and grief for many, for others it became the symbol of US power and the desire to avenge the attacks. Many sought a symbol that was not nationalistic but conveyed a broader perspective—that world peace with justice is possible and that it is an absolute human right. This banner also flies in support of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations in 1948.
