On Sunday, Sept. 8, the USW Humanity Fund in Canada attended an appreciation barbecue event for local migrant workers employed across Northumberland County.
Migrant workers in the area come primarily from Mexico and Jamaica, and live and work on Canadian farms for six-eight months every year. They are an essential part of the local harvest and food production, and the Steelworkers Humanity Fund is proud to support outreach programming to migrant workers.
