Week of October 13, 2024 in MADISON:

Building Unity is walking for Peace in Madison this week – Monday through Friday:

Building Unity invites you to join them over the noon hour on weekdays on “Daily Walking Vigils” to end Israel’s genocidal wars on Palestine and now Lebanon, calling for ceasefires on all fronts and by all parties, an arms embargo on Israel, the release of all hostages, and the restoration of full funding for humanitarian aid for those in need in Palestine and Lebanon.

The walking vigil grew out of the “Madison Monday Noon Vigil for Peace”, held during most Monday noon hours since 1981. Now instead of standing on one corner, participants walk down and up State St. handing out educational fliers. Plans call to continue for at least a couple more weeks.

Here is the Mon – Fri. schedule in case you’d like to join:

12:00 – Meet at State St. & Capitol Square, walk down state street after about 7 minutes.

12:30ish – Brief stop to vigil and leaflet at the fountain in Memorial Library Mall, then walk back

1:00 – Arrive back at the Capitol Square, Come join for any part the hour, for more info, call 608-630-3633
