Contact: Art Heitzer, artheitzer@gmail.com

Mobile 414-628-2547On Saturday, October 19 at 1:30 PM, Milwaukee area residents will rally to call attention to the upcoming United Nations vote to condemn the US economic blockade of Cuba. The rally will be at Mitchell Park, close to 27th St., and will include short remarks from groups including the United Nations Association of Greater MKE, Peace Action-WI, the National Lawyers Guild, Progressive Democrats of America, Democratic Socialists of America, and the Party for Socialism and Liberation, among others.

This rally will be videotaped and shared for worldwide viewing, coinciding with the UN General assembly debate and vote on October 29–30, 2024. This will be the 33rd year that a consensus of the world’s governments is expected to call for an end to the web of US economic sanctions against trade with Cuba. Last year 185 nations including all US NATO allies voted in favor of  the resolution and only two countries voted against.  “This event is rarely reported by mainstream US media, which is a major reason why we are holding this rally,” explained Atty. Art Heitzer for the Wisconsin Cuba Coalition, www.wicuba.org.

Highlights of the rally will be shared worldwide.  See https://www.facebook.com/events/474571148702025.
