Moratorium NOW! Coalition
Zoom participation option will still be available.
Starting Monday, October 21 at 7 PM we will be holding our weekly Moratorium Now meetings in-person at 5920 Second Avenue, Detroit. But you can still participate through ZOOM.
If you have not been participating with Moratorium Now Coalition this would be a great way to meet other people and find out what we do and how we operate. Over the past years we have kept up a steady stream of activities.
Our work includes:
- fighting for the rights of tenants against landlords;
- organizing against fascist plans of Donald Trump by initiating the Anti-Fascist Organizing Committee;
- fighting against a lawsuit by a slumlord who didn’t like our protests and exposure of his practices (we won!);
- demonstrating against the genocidal war against Palestine and Lebanon;
- recently holding two public hybrid meetings – one on the history of zionism and the other in commemoration of the year of struggle by the Palestinian people.
We have held a hybrid meeting with activists from Mexico regarding events in that important neighbor, and are planning another one soon. We also held a hybrid meeting on the national elections this year in Venezuela where we featured a Venezuelan activist.
Meetings run from 7 – 9 PM. There is ample free parking on the street.
