Cover our Protests!
The media coverage of differing opinions by local residents on US wars has been unfair. Peace Action WI has put out many Media Alerts to cover our actions over the years that have been ignored. We have had many rallies and protests for a ceasefire in Gaza, to stop the war on Afghanistan, to stop the bombing of Syria, stopping weapons flows to Ukraine. We have had events protesting US sanctions on Cuba and Venezuela that have caused massive suffering of civilians.
The coverage of the Israeli and Palestinian conflict is unbalanced- more voices must be heard in favor of a ceasefire and weapons embargo on Israel to stop the genocide in Gaza, which is expanding into Lebanon. We call for a return of all hostages in Gaza and in Israeli prisons. More coverage of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza that is critical of Israel blocking of food, water and medical care is needed,
We protest the exclusion of the Jewish Voice for Peace in the narrative of how Jewish groups in Milwaukee view the war in Palestine. They don’t share the view that Israel has the right to use any means necessary to defend itself, they say stop the genocide and “Not in Our Name.”
