No matter who wins the November 2024 elections, we are up against entrenched Christian nationalist and neo-fascist forces that will continue to gain power unless they are militantly opposed. They have access to tens of billions of dollars to further their aims. Even if Trump loses the election, he and his supporters will claim he won and can pose a serious threat. Neo fascist groups like NSC 131 are actively organizing in Massachusetts, Wisconsin and all across the country. Other racist and fascist formations include the Proud Boys, Blood Tribe, and various Nazi groups.

We cannot depend on the Democratic Party to save us; they are too busy protecting banks and corporations and prosecuting a genocidal war against Palestinians as well as helping to impose military hegemony across the globe.

In January 2024, the journal, Fighting Words, posted a call to organize local anti-fascist organizing committees (full statement here: https://fighting-words.net/2024/01/27/anti-fascist-organizing-committee-launched/). 

We believe that it was imperative then and even more so now, to organize local anti-fascist organizing committees everywhere. We need powerful, independent movements of workers in unions and the unorganized, along with the broadest range fighting organizations that can protect the rights of the working class and oppressed peoples.

Among our tasks is to discuss the idea of a General Strike if it becomes necessary. We also should spread literature among the working class members of the United States military and National Guard on the looming danger and urge them to be prepared to disobey illegal or immoral orders. Every locality should begin forming joint defense committees that can immediately protect union and community meetings, progressive rallies, demonstrations and leaders.

We urge union leaders in particular to begin preparing in every way including prepping union halls for offensive and defensive class combat.
