Detroiters gathered at two events in solidarity with Cuba at a time when the Trump administration is trying to strangle the island nation with a blockade on oil deliveries. Trump has also repeatedly threatened military intervention to overthrow the socialist government of Cuba.
On Thursday, April 9 a crowd gathered at the Sheffield Bridge Community Center to greet Dr. Tanieris Dieguez La O, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Cuban Embassy in Washington, D.C.
On Saturday, April 11 the national conference of the National Lawyers Guild hosted the Deputy Chief of Mission at a workshop on Cuba solidarity.
