Although the Senate voted to allow mining around the Boundary Waters, you can contact Minnesota’s Department of Natural Resources, which has the legal authority to block such mining.
- Write or send a postcard to Commissioner Sarah Strommen, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources 500 Lafayette Road St Paul MN 55155 asking her to protect the fragile ecosystem in the Waters and allow NO mining in National Park protected lands.
- Go to the Friends of the Boundary Waters website, where there is a link to send Commissioner Strommen an email, a phone number at which you can call her, and other resources to make your opinion known.
