IN ONE WEEK: NAKBA COMMEMORATION WEEKEND 🇵🇸

Milwaukee4Palestine and our community partners are proud to present a weekend of events to commemorate 78 years of the ongoing Nakba. Please join us for as many events as you’d like…hopefully all of them!

✨Friday, May 15: A storytelling event featuring local Palestinians sharing their experiences surviving Zionist violence, how we keep the movement going, and how we resist erasure of our people and culture.

✨Saturday, May 16: A series of diverse events to give everyone an opportunity to take action to support Palestinian liberation. Whether you prefer to rally with us, learn new information to share, or ride bikes in solidarity with the Gaza Sunbirds, there’s something for everyone.

💐 For the morning rally: You are encouraged to bring flowers with you, or to buy them from vendors at the market, to include in a memorial we’ll create. The rally will be followed by a short nature walk nearby to decompress and be in community.

☕ For the teach-in at Al Wadi: We encourage folks to arrive early to order drinks & snacks to get settled in before the programming begins.

🚲 For the bike ride: Arrive early to decorate your bike! We’ll have flags, stickers, and other items you can use and keep.

✨Sunday, May 17: An afternoon of outdoor community time, rooted in future liberation. Get ready to learn about seeds – including Palestinian seeds – and how to preserve what we can for future generations. Bring yard games, lawn chairs, sunscreen, kites, anything fun for the outdoors! Stay for the 6:00pm community barbecue provided by Bint Jamila’s Table – you are encouraged to bring a dish to share!

Please comment with any questions, and we’ll see you in one week!
