Starbucks Workers United: From Orlando to San Francisco, ya’ll showed up!

View this email in your browser

This past Saturday, baristas and supporters showed up at 24 events across the country. Orlando. Dayton. Lancaster. Tumwater. San Francisco. From coast to coast, we hit the pavement at non-union Starbucks stores, talked to customers, and made it crystal clear: we are not going anywhere.

We’re making sure no customer orders in the dark, and no barista thinks they’re stuck.

Every store visited, every customer who heard our story, every pledge that got shared, that’s you. Thank you for putting in the work with us!

Behind every Starbucks cup is a barista who deserves better. Wages start at $15.25 to $16/hr in 43 states. Baristas are on SNAP and Medicaid, scrambling to get enough hours to pay rent, and still can’t qualify for healthcare. We’re understaffed, under-protected, and frankly, underpaid.

That’s why we’re fighting for a fair union contract with minimum starting wages of $17/hr, 3 workers on the floor at all times, and the economic security and workplace protections we actually deserve. Starbucks executives keep trying to drag us backwards at the bargaining table. We will keep showing up. And we’re not stopping until we get a contract and beyond.

Now let’s keep building

Baristas: Our movement is powered by worker-to-worker organizing. Connect with us and learn how to organize your store. Start here.

Allies: Keep the pressure on! Share the No Coffee, No Contract pledge with 5 people, and let’s build on this moment.

Solidarity always,

Starbucks Workers United
