About wibailoutpeople

We are a part of the national Bail Out The People movement which formed in 2008 to fight against the bailouts to the banks. Since then we have been in numerous fights against poverty, racism and war. We demand that the people be bailed out not the banks, a moratorium on all foreclosures, a federal jobs program now and other demands. We have been participating in the Wisconsin people's uprising, Bloombergville in NYC and numerous other people's actions.

From The Call:

Get On the Bridge: We Declare an Economic Emergency for the 99%!

November 17th is the National Day of Action in support of the 99 percent. People in cities all across the country will be hitting the streets again to protest against the corporate greed of the 1 percent and to highlight the decaying infrastructure and lack of jobs that plague our communities.

Here in Milwaukee we will meet at Carver Park, a location close to the I-43/North Ave bridge, to call attention to the need for serious infrastructural improvements in Milwaukee and the ever-growing need for jobs and social services for the 99%.

We’re in an economic crisis. Our communities need: Jobs, not Bombs! Education, not Corporations! Safe Streets, not Police Brutality! Healthcare, Not Warfare! A Bailout for the People, Not the Banks! Please join Occupy Milwaukee for this demonstration on November 17th and make your voice heard!

Dreamers & Their Parents To Confront Right-Wing Senator In Alabama Today, Nov. 15

From: http://www.dreamactivist.org/

Today in Alabama we’ll see undocumented parents and youth come out of the shadows, at the risk of arrest, to push back against anti-immigrant rhetoric.  We’ll be confronting the man himself, Senator Beason, the author of hate bill 56.  At the risk of arrest families will be demanding Senator Beason to stop the hate.  Watch the event on live-stream here – show goes live at 2:00 pm CST.

Just last week Senator Pearce, the Arizona legislator and author of similar legislation, was taken down by a grassroots campaign.  Hopefully he was the first of many anti-immigrant legislators to feel the heat for their long-time positions of hate against our families.  We told them for years that at some point we’d fight back and that time is now.

The parents are coming out to demand a different America.  Simply put we want the same liberties America promises all of us on paper.  The only way we can one day reach that goal is to come out, to take risks knowing that the community has got our back.  Today, for the first time ever, undocumented parents will join youth in taking that risk and facing arrest – (going live at 2:00 pm CST) don’t miss the show!!

We’ll have an update rolling through as soon as the event comes to a close.  We hope, just like you, that Senator Beason will make the right move and prevent the arrest of the families.  Be sure to tune in and support the families!

Much love,

Mohammad Abdollahi

P.S.   Just in case folks are arrested help us get started early by donating some bail funds!
