About wibailoutpeople

We are a part of the national Bail Out The People movement which formed in 2008 to fight against the bailouts to the banks. Since then we have been in numerous fights against poverty, racism and war. We demand that the people be bailed out not the banks, a moratorium on all foreclosures, a federal jobs program now and other demands. We have been participating in the Wisconsin people's uprising, Bloombergville in NYC and numerous other people's actions.

Support Striking Truck Drivers on the West Coast

Today we STRIKE! Today we #PortStrike!!!

Today we stand as the League of Working Class Heroes on picket lines spread across Southern California and at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to break the chains of debt and indentured servitude our bosses have bound us with.

Can you show your support by phoning the LA Mayor Eric Garcetti and Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia to encourage them to stop exploitation of us port drivers and warehouse workers?

Call Mayors today

Make a call to the Mayors right now.

We are vital to the American supply chain. We carry the shoes, clothes, and all the other goods you need. But greedy corporations have rigged the rules of our economy and are making all the profits while the trucking bosses make us work past exhaustion to only go in debt.

The Mayors of LA and Long Beach have heard directly from us. USA Today just released a year-long investigation of this scam at the ports and how the system is rigged. This is why we are standing up to protest unfair labor practices committed by our bosses and standing together to stop this scandal. Others have called us Working Class Heroes but we believe we are just doing what is right; #RealSuperHeroesWearVests.

Take action today by joining the League of Working Class Heroes and click here to call the LA and Long Beach Mayors’ offices today.

Tell LA Mayor Eric Garcetti and Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia to take action and protect the public interest at the ports from the labor unrest caused by this horrible misclassification scam. It will accelerate economic revitalization throughout Southern California.

Together we will win and make the American economy work for all of us!

June 21: Gather at Sherman Park in Solidarity with the Syville Smith Family

We at WI BOPM are sharing this post in solidarity with the Smith Family and all those killed and brutalized by the Milwaukee police:

Message from VM:

No matter what the verdict is tomorrow, PLEASE MEET WITH US AND THE FAMILY IN SHERMAN PARK (possibly at the tree site or the greenspace) TO OFFER SUPPORT AND FOR A POSSIBLE PRESS CONFERENCE. Any changes of location will be per the familys request once I can meet with them. Its time to go after policy and law now. Lets remember that they have NEVER convicted a cop in a death of a black man in Milwaukee. Nojustice was rendered for Jermaine Claybrooks as of yet. No justice was rendered for Jay Anderson Jr. No justice was rendered for Dontre Hamilton. No justice was rendered for Corey Stingley. The rules are set for this to happen. Its time we change the rules. Be safe and keep up with what happens next. We got charges, now we demand change.

Behind the London Tower Block Fire Which Left Many Dead, Injured and Displaced

People of color, the working class and poor have been negatively impacted by British economic and housing policy.

“…Britain along with other western capitalist states will continue to experience political instability in light of the growing class and sectional differences among the populations. As long as the wealthy elites enhance their status with disregard for the majority of the people within society, the mounting social contradictions will undoubtedly prompt further economic turbulence and protracted ideological conflict.”

Milwaukee, June 24: Trump – Hands Off Cuba & Venezuela!

Hosted by Milwaukee Coalition Against Trump

12 NOON, 517 E Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee / U.S. Federal Courthouse

On June 16, President Trump announced a step back to Cold War-style relations with Cuba, bringing to an end to years of openness between our two countries.

This comes at the same time that Trump and the Republicans continue to support the most violent, far-right groups in Venezuela that are fighting to end 18 years of progressive government. The U.S. military has begun to play war games off the Venezuelan coast, risking a war that could spread across the whole region.

Trump wants to bring an end to popular governments in the Americas that refuse to work in the interests of the 1%. We stand against Trump’s agenda. The peoples of Cuba and Venezuela do, too. Let’s stand with them in these struggles ahead.

Co-hosted by MCAT, the Latin American Solidarity Committee, Workers World Party and Freedom Road Socialist Organization.
