About wibailoutpeople

We are a part of the national Bail Out The People movement which formed in 2008 to fight against the bailouts to the banks. Since then we have been in numerous fights against poverty, racism and war. We demand that the people be bailed out not the banks, a moratorium on all foreclosures, a federal jobs program now and other demands. We have been participating in the Wisconsin people's uprising, Bloombergville in NYC and numerous other people's actions.

Chicago, November 19: Mass March: Say No to Trump! Say No to Racism!

Assemble, 12 noon at Federal Plaza (Adams and Dearborn)
March to Trump Tower!

Trump says, “Get back!” We say, “Fight Back!”
Say no to racism, sexism, and war!

We must continue the wave of resistance to a Trump presidency. We cannot let an open racist, sexist and bigot rule this country or threaten the people of the world.

We must stand with immigrants, Muslims, women, LGBTQ people, communities of color and all those who are in danger and will be under attack during a Trump administration.

We must organize and unite. We must do this by and for ourselves. Waiting for the democrats–all of whom are “wishing Trump success”–to defend us is a dead end. If we fight, we can win. If we wait for those in power to save us, we will be waiting a long time.

Let’s build a united front movement of the people to defend our communities, defeat Trump and beat back the racists, sexists and bigots.

Hit the streets together on November 19. Bring your signs, banner and voice of protest!

January 21: Women’s March on Washington- National Page

WOMEN’S MARCH ON WASHINGTON- JANUARY 21st, 2017
OFFICIAL STATEMENT, National Organizers

On January 21, 2017 we will unite in Washington, DC for the Women’s March on Washington. We stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families — recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country.

The rhetoric of the past election cycle has insulted, demonized, and threatened many of us–women, immigrants of all statuses, those with diverse religious faiths particularly Muslim, people who identify as LGBTQIA, Native and Indigenous people, Black and Brown people, people with disabilities, the economically impoverished and survivors of sexual assault. We are confronted with the question of how to move forward in the face of national and international concern and fear.

In the spirit of democracy and honoring the champions of human rights, dignity, and justice who have come before us, we join in diversity to show our presence in numbers too great to ignore. The Women’s March on Washington will send a bold message to our new administration on their first day in office, and to the world that women’s rights are human rights. We stand together, recognizing that defending the most marginalized among us is defending all of us.

We support the advocacy and resistance movements that reflect our multiple and intersecting identities. We call on all defenders of human rights to join us. This march is the first step towards unifying our communities, grounded in new relationships, to create change from the grassroots level up. We will not rest until women have parity and equity at all levels of leadership in society. We work peacefully while recognizing there is no true peace without justice and equity for all. HEAR OUR VOICE.

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

This is an INCLUSIVE march, and EVERYONE who supports women’s rights are welcome.

PLEASE SHARE, we need to spread the word everywhere! And there are groups forming for EVERY STATE, so search for your local group as well!

We especially need HOSTS and ORGANIZERS from marginalized communities for this to be truly inclusive, please DM your state administrator to get involved! ♥

Madison, January 20: Resist Trump: Occupy Inauguration – Madison

#ResistTrump !! #OccupyInauguration !! #NotMyPresident

Donald Trump and the reactionary core of the Republican Party are coming to power in 2017 on a platform of racism, sexism, xenophobia, and pro-corporate policies. We must build a independent mass movement of the 99% that vows to use every ounce of our collective body and spirit to stand against Trump’s reactionary agenda from Day 1, in Madison and in cities across the country.

We are participating in the birth of a mass movement for social and economic justice.

Join us in the streets- again!- to demonstrate mass opposition to Trump and his agenda!

Build a movement to fight racism, sexism, and Islamophobia!

– No Border Wall! Stop the deportations of undocumented immigrants!
– Tax rich millionaires like Trump! Fund healthcare for all! Make college free!
– Black Lives Matter!
– End rape culture — #PussyGrabsBack
– Stop the Dakota Access Pipeline — Green Jobs now! — #NoDAPL

The Democratic Party has proven they are incapable of stopping Trump. It is time to build a new party for the 99% based on the united power of all exploited and oppressed people, on movements for social and economic justice, on the belief that we CAN do better than this corrupt and rotten system!

#ResistTrump !! #OccupyInauguration !!

Chicago, November 19: People’s Thanksgiving

From FRSO Fightback:

Dear comrades and friends –

Last week, Donald Trump won the election for president. Having run a campaign filled with hate, his victory was shocking. In response, a million people have taken to the streets since then – from Chicago to New York, Minneapolis to East Los Angeles, Salt Lake City to Miami to Houston – rejecting his racist, homophobic, and sexist agenda.

The people have shown the way: we need to Fight Back!

And so we write to remind you to attend the 25th Annual People’s Thanksgiving Dinner. We gather each year to reflect on the struggles waged, victories won, and challenges ahead. We started this tradition 25 years ago as an act of solidarity with the indigenous peoples of the Americas. We gather this year as the biggest upsurge of struggle of Native Americans in generations is taking place in Standing Rock, North Dakota.

And while Trump’s election is terrible news, there is a wave of struggle that we need to join and build. As Freedom Road Socialist Organization said in our statement responding Trump’s victory, “He is not our president. We need to do everything we can to drown his administration in a high tide of struggle and fightbacks.”

Gather together with us in the spirit of the working class martyr, Joe Hill: “Don’t Mourn, Organize.”

In struggle –

Joe Iosbaker, Freedom Road Socialist Organization

Madison: Join Freedom Inc. to continue the fight for freedom!

Freedom Inc

http://www.freedom-inc.org/

Supporters of Freedom Inc.,

Some of you may be feeling discouraged by the outcome of the election, which served as a reminder that the terrain is shifting toward increasing hostility.  Many members of our communities are more vulnerable than ever before—including those who are Black and Southeast Asian, queer, young, elderly, disabled, immigrant, displaced, and low income.  But we want you to know that we have come too far to go home with anything short of freedom, and we are going to keep fighting until we win!

We come from a people who have faced deep atrocities and violence, including enslavement, war, genocide, displacement, and more.  In the face of state-sponsored oppression and the predominant culture of white supremacy and fascism, we remain firm in our commitments to end violence within and against our communities.  More than ever, this is the time to double down and be uncompromising and unapologetic in our vision for freedom!

Join with us as we show up and show out for freedom.  We are asking you to pledge monthly donations to support and sustain our absolutely vital work.  What will your donations support?  Since long before this election we have built a base of power in order to force the pendulum of change in our direction.  But we are now working harder than ever to prepare for the changes that are to come.

This includes deep political education for our members, safety planning for both interpersonal and systemic attacks, and leadership training for those who will guide us through these tumultuous times.  We are also concentrating on building strategies that will win in a shifting terrain.  This means engaging in a deep assessment of the upcoming administration, reminding ourselves of lessons learned from generations of activism, and sharpening our movement science so we can build strategies to win.

We need you now more than ever.  We encourage you to become a sustaining member by committing to monthly donations.  But more importantly, we invite you to come to our events and become members of our organization.  Join us and support Black and Southeast Asian freedom fighters in trail blazing for social change!

As our mother Assata says:
It is our duty to fight for our freedom.
It is our duty to win.
We must love each other and support each other.
We have nothing to lose but our chains

Yours in the fight,
Freedom, Inc. Staff, Freedom Inc

Milwaukee, November 22: Film Night: 13th, by Ava DuVernay

There will not be a Tuesday night planning session next week so that we can have our first SURJ MKE Film Night! There has been a venue change due to needing solid internet access for streaming this film. Wisconsin Jobs Now has generously offered up their large and welcoming space to view it, and then have break out rooms for discussion groups after the film.
