About wibailoutpeople

We are a part of the national Bail Out The People movement which formed in 2008 to fight against the bailouts to the banks. Since then we have been in numerous fights against poverty, racism and war. We demand that the people be bailed out not the banks, a moratorium on all foreclosures, a federal jobs program now and other demands. We have been participating in the Wisconsin people's uprising, Bloombergville in NYC and numerous other people's actions.

Roadmap to Apartheid (Trailer)

Official trailer for the upcoming movie Roadmap to Apartheid. Narrated by Alice Walker.

There are many lessons to draw from the South African experience of Apartheid relevant to conflicts all over the world. Roadmap to Apartheid explores in detail the apartheid comparison as it is used in the enduring Israel-Palestine conflict. As much an historical document of the rise and fall of apartheid, the film shows us why many Palestinians feel they are living in an apartheid system today, and why an increasing number of people around the world agree with them.

Milwaukee, October 27: Problems With Your Boss or Landlord? Solidarity Network Organizing 101 (includes call -in from Seattle Solidarity Network)

Problems With Your Boss or Landlord? Solidarity Network Organizing 101 (includes call -in from Seattle Solidarity Network)

Free and public workshop, providing information on the basics of solidarity network organizing: how to fight with others against problems from people in power, including conditions such as wage theft, abusive workplace conditions, stolen security deposits and refusal of repairs. People fight and win these cases, not through reliance on the court system or bureaucratic processes, but through talking to people, building support, and using direct action against people with power. Come out to the large meeting room of the Center Street Library (2727 W. Fon Du Lac Ave, Milwaukee) on Tuesday, October 27th, and learn how to build such action in Milwaukee.

The event starts promptly at 6:00 PM, the schedule is:

6:00-6:15 PM, Core principles of collective direct action.

6:15-7:00 PM. Call-in from member of the Seattle Solidarity Network, describing their experience of fights won, and techniques to effectively build collective resistance.

7:00-7:30 PM. The Milwaukee context: tools for research and building action.

This event should be of use to people dealing with an active work or tenant issue of their own, or people willing to volunteer time to help others fight against such injustice. It will include space for Q & A, please bring specific issues and questions.
