EVENT: http://tinyurl.com/ms7a4t6
FLYER: http://tinyurl.com/oe238ov
In Solidarity with Palestinians, especially those beseiged and bombarded in Gaza, we will block 2 Israeli ZIM Ships from docking and unloading at the Port of Oakland.
It happened in 2010 and it will happen again!

The Palestinian people are under attack by the state of Israel, with the support of the U.S. government. Palestinian children are being murdered, their hospitals are being bombed, and Palestinian workers are being fired, beaten, arrested, and killed for striking in response. We call on a broad coalition of Pro-Palestinian labor, human rights, and anti-war organizations to join us for direct actions and pickets against the Israeli Shipping company ZIM!

Telesur In English
http://www.telesurtv.net/english/section/joinus/index.html
The arrival of teleSUR in the English-speaking world will provide a much-needed view from the South to those in the northern hemisphere.
In an office nestled 2,800 meters above sea level in the Ecuadorian Andes, a group of some 30 people from over 12 countries are in the throes of making a website that might just change the way Latin America is seen in the West.
The website is teleSUR English, Latin America’s answer to Al Jazeera, or Russia Today. The original Spanish-language channel broke the hegemony over Latin American news that CNN en Español once had. Resolving to be truly representative and inclusive in its reporting of the mulch-ethinc, plurilingual region, teleSUR broke television norms by airing a range of ethnicities, accents and even languages.
Started by the Venezuelan government in 2005, under former president Hugo Chavez, teleSUR grew from a local channel to a pan-American network with a range of news and analysis programs with a left-leaning, Latin American focus.

Milwaukee, July 27: Protest Israel ‘Solidarity’ Gathering
EVENT: http://tinyurl.com/pe8ngnt
Over 600 Palestinians have been killed in Israels ongoing “operation protective edge” against Gaza.
Yet Milwaukee’s pro-Israel zionists are advertising a “Israel Solidarity Gathering” to “stand together as a community in solidarity with the people of Israel.” The event will include “remarks by the Consulate General of Israel to the Midwest”
The pro-Israel event makes no mention of Palestine, or the suffering in Gaza caused by 60 years of Israeli land theft, occupation, terror, imprisonment, torture, blockade, and indiscriminate bombing.
We stand in solidarity with Gaza! End US aid for Israeli war crimes!
We will rally in front of the event at Congregation Shalom at 7630 N. Santa Monica Blvd. Fox Point, WI at 4:00 pm.

Hezbollah Chief Offers Support To Hamas
ARTICLE: http://tinyurl.com/ktsjwtd
Lebanon’s Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has offered his support to the Palestinian movement Hamas, Hezbollah-owned Al Manar television reported Monday.
The Hezbollah secretary general told Hamas’ exiled chief Khaled Meshal by telephone: “Hezbollah and the Lebanese resistance stand firmly on the side of the Intifada and the Palestinian people’s resistance, and support Hamas’ strategy and the just conditions it has set to end the conflict.”
Hamas is demanding Israel end its siege of Gaza and has called for the release of scores of prisoners from Israeli jails before it considers peace talks proposed by Egypt.
Nasrallah, meanwhile, expressed his “complete confidence in the resistance’s capacity to defend itself and to achieve a new victory in July,” a reference to Israel’s defeat by Hezbollah in its July 2006 assault on Lebanon.
In a separate phone call to Ramadan Abdallah Challah, secretary general of the Gaza’s second-biggest armed group, the Islamic Jihad, Nasrallah said: “The Lebanese resistance is willing to cooperate completely, in order to realize the goals of the Palestinian resistance, and to ensure the failure of the (Israeli) aggression.”
Israel’s assault on Gaza, the bloodiest in five years, has lasted 14 days, killing more than 500 Palestinians, while 18 Israeli soldiers have been killed in the violence.

Detroit Struggle Escalates Amid National Outpouring of Solidarity
By Abayomi Azikiwe
On Mon. July 21, the Detroit Water & Sewerage Dept. (DWSD) announced in federal bankruptcy court before Judge Steven Rhodes that there would be a 15-day suspension of water shut-offs while policies would be enacted to address the current crisis in the city. Additional measures were revealed which are purportedly designed to address the massive termination of water services for thousands of households in the economically distressed majority African American municipality.
This declaration in federal court from the DWSD culminated a week-long series of activities that focused national attention on the plight of working and poor people in Detroit. A mass demonstration through downtown’s financial district on July 18 attracted thousands representing local organizations, the National Nurses United (NNU) and the delegates of the Net Roots Nation Conference held at Cobo Conference Center July 17-19…
