Milwaukee, April 6: Celebrate Palestinian Land Day
We invite you to celebrate Land Day with guest speaker Ahmad Tibi, member of the Israeli Knesset.
April 6th, 7pm, at the Palestinian American Council, 815 w Layton ave.
Tibi is the leader of the Arab Movement for Change (Ta’al), an Arab party in Israel. Tibi served as a political advisor to Yasser Arafat (1993–1999.) Tibi is an anti-Zionist who supports the Palestinian right of return, calling it a “prerequisite for reconciliation.”
Land Day History:
On march 30th, 1976, Palestinian Israeli citizens organized a general strike and marches from Galillee to Negev in protest of Israel’s planned land theft for settlement construction. Israeli soldiers killed six Palestinians, wounded 100, and arrested hundreds more for the protest. The martyrs are now commemorated, and the actions celebrated worldwide as a day of resistance to Israeli occupation.

This event is for ALL people that are between the ages of 13-23 years old, students and non students, but if you are not one of those you can help get the word out to those that would be interested in attending. It’s key that we prepare for the high possibility of a non-indictmentWe will be debriefing about the events of the last couple weeks. And we will be talking about what to expect from this investigation, as well as where we go once the decision to indict or not indict comes.
The Red Gym, MSC lounge on the second floor at 5:00 pm.

Milwaukee, April 2: Caravana 43: Parents of the Students from Ayotzinapa at UWM
Parents of some of the missing students from Ayotzinapa, Guerrero, MX are doing a 43 city tour in the U.S. They will stop by in Milwaukee for a few days. On April 2nd they will come to our UW-Milwaukee campus. Come and listen to their stories and learn about what has been going on in Mexico lately. Free and open to the public. Location: Lapham 162. Lapham room 162 is at the back part of Lapham if you enter through Maryland street. Check the show map option to see where Lapham hall is.
Varios padres de los 43 desaparecidos normalistas de Ayotzinapa, Guerrero, MX estan recorriendo 43 ciudades en los Estados Unidos. Ellos quieren informar a los estadounidenses sobre los acontecimientos en Ayotzinapa. Van a estar en la ciudad de Milwaukee por 3 dias y en el segundo de Abril ellos van a venir a nuestro campus en la Universidad de Milwaukee Wisconsin. Ven a escuchar sus historias y a aprender sobre los recientes tumultos en Mexico. Gratuito y abierto al publico. El evento se realizara en el edificio llamado Lapham numero 162. El salon 162 se ubica en la parte de atras del edificio Lapham si entra por la calle Maryland.
