Plymouth, MA, November 27: National Day of Mourning 2014
EVENT: http://tinyurl.com/nh4x3oj
Since 1970, Native Americans have gathered at noon on Cole’s Hill in Plymouth to commemorate a National Day of Mourning on the US thanksgiving holiday. Many Native Americans do not celebrate the arrival of the Pilgrims and other Europeean settlers. Thanksgiving day is a reminder of the genocide of millions of Native people, the theft of Native lands, and the relentless assault on Native culture. Participants in National Day of Mourning honor Native ancestors and the struggles of Native peoples to survive today. It is a day of remembrance and spiritual connection as well as a protest of the racism and oppression that Native Americans continue to experience.
Join us as we dedicate the 45th National Day of Mourning to our brother, Native political prisoner Leonard Peltier. Add your voice to the millions world-wide who demand his freedom. Help us in our struggle to create a true awaren of Native peoples and demonstrate the unity of Indigenous peoples internationally. Help shatter the untrue glass image of the Pilgrims and the unjust system based on racism, sexism, homophobia and war.

Stand with Walmart Workers! / Protest On Black Friday!
SIGN PETITION: http://tinyurl.com/lj5tdap
The Walton family, who owns Walmart, is the richest family in America, with nearly $150 billion in wealth and as much money as 43% of America’s families combined. But most Walmart workers make less than just $25,000 a year. Workers in more than 2,000 stores have joined calls for Walmart to increase wages to $15 an hour and give them access to full-time hours.
Show your support for Walmart workers by signing the petition to tell the Waltons that you support the workers’ call for $15 an hour and access to full-time work and that you’ll be standing with workers on Black Friday if they don’t respond.

Mexico: General Strike on November 20 for Missing Students
Telesur: http://tinyurl.com/nsd4fof
The strike is scheduled to coincide with the national holiday commemorating the start of the Mexican Revolution.
The Mexican Inter-university Students Assembly, chaired by the Ayotzinapa Teacher Training School “Isidro Burgos,” announced a national strike on November 20 to protest the government’s ineffective investigation in the case of the 43 missing Ayotzinapa students.
The assembly, attended by students from 79 schools, decided to support the national strike summoned by the parents of the missing students.
The actions announced for November 20 include the seizure of the International Airport of Mexico City and a one-day strike at different schools, companies and organizations throughout the country.
Another measure called for by the assembly is the boycott of the “Good Weekend,” the Mexican version of “Black Friday” in the United States which is an unofficial shopping holiday. The assembly urged Mexicans to not buy anything during this weekend which occurs November 14-17.
The assembly also called for the boycott of the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games, which will take place in Veracruz, Mexico, from November 14-30.
The boycott actions against the Central American and Caribbean Games started Wednesday when students of the University of Veracruz’s Faculty of Humanities extinguished the fire of the game’s torch with buckets of water during its travel through the city of Xalapa. The students shouted mottos such as, “We don’t want games, we want justice.”

About the Resistance Skillshare series:
It is possible to oppose the power of elites and improve our collective conditions through worker-led organization. There are a set of skills and techniques that help do this. These skills can be taught and learnt but are not always transferred, forcing people to learn the most essential things through slow trial and error. The Milwaukee branch of the Industrial Workers of the World is offering a series of free and public workshops to make this process easier, and facilitate grassroots resistance in our neighborhoods, schools and jobs.
If you have any questions about organizing or desire to see on a future workshop that you believe you would benefit from, contact us at our facebook page or at iww.milwaukee@gmail.com
