Occupy Wall Street and Other Progressive Organizations To Demand Jobs & Housing During President Obama’s Milwaukee Visit

MILWAUKEE — An ad hoc coalition of progressive individuals and organizations including members of Occupy Wall Street, will assemble at 32nd and Center Streets in Milwaukee, WI Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m. to issue their demands to President Obama while he visits the Masterlock factory.

Demands will include that President Obama makes a public statement opposing union-busting in Wisconsin and across the United States; that he enforce the 1978 full employment act by signing an immediate federal executive order to create a federal jobs program; that he sign an executive order for a moratorium on foreclosures and evictions; that he rescind the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA); and that he guarantees protesters constitutional rights during the NATO/G8 protests in Chicago in May. Anti-war protesters will also be present to demand that the illegal and unconstitutional U.S. wars in the Middle East and across the world end immediately and that the taxpayers money being used to wage these wars be used to create jobs and assist with other human needs in the U.S.
