Milwaukee, November 20: Wishah Palestinian Dance Troupe in Milwaukee!
Straight from Ramallah and other cities and villages of Occupied Palestine, this Popular Dance Troupe is bringing traditional Palestinian folklore, dance, theater, and culture to Milwaukee on Friday, November 20th.
Wishah presents emotionally moving shows which are based on the artistic inheritance of our music and songs. Through its performances, the group contributes to Palestinian cultural life, preserving it from marginalization attempts, and popularizes Palestinian dance and song. As a representation of cultural resistance in Palestine, Wishah is on its second-ever U.S. tour, partnering nationally with USPCN and locally with several other organizations.

From The WI AFL-CIO: Hands Off Worker’s Compensation!
http://wisaflcio.typepad.com/wisconsin-state-afl-cio-blog/
Our Workers Compensation system is under attack. On Tuesday, November 10, a destructive and dangerous bill was introduced by Rep. Spiros (R-Marshfield) – AB501 the “Spiros Workers Compensation Destruction Bill” – which would collapse our Workers Compensation system.
The Spiros Workers Compensation Destruction Bill would destroy Wisconsin’s great Workers Compensation system for injured workers and undermine the collaborative Workers Compensation Advisory Council process. The bill has been referred to the Assembly Committee on Insurance.
Wisconsin is the birthplace of the Workers Compensation system. We have a model system which ensures that workers injured on the job are treated fairly and consistently, creating stability for employers and employees. Our nationally respected system is guided by the Wisconsin Workers Compensation Advisory Council.
The Workers Compensation Advisory Council is comprised of representatives from labor and management who are experts in our Workers Compensation system. Council members meet regularly to study, vet, and ultimately ensure that recommended changes are good for the entire system: workers, employers, insurers and medical care providers. The Council’s recommended changes are brought to the Legislature as an agreed-upon bill. The Legislature introduces, reviews, and passes the agreed-upon bill because legislators trust that the Council’s members have an excellent understanding of the system and have trust in the Council’s process.
An agreed-upon bill has been reached and should be advanced by the Legislature.
The Council insolates and protects our system and injured workers from partisan politics. Without the Council, our Workers Compensation system would “yo-yo” with each election, bringing instability to the system and harm to workers and employers alike.
The Spiros Workers Compensation Destruction Bill ignores the guidance, input and extensive research done by the Council and stacks the deck against injured workers. If the Spiros Workers Compensation Destruction Bill proceeds through the Legislature, it would set a dangerous precedent and wreak havoc on our Workers Compensation system.

READ THE CALL For A World Day Against Capitalism & Racism:
A PEOPLE’S RESPONSE TO THE G20 SUMMIT
On November 15 and 16 the heads of governments of the G20 — the world’s 20 largest economies — along with the heads of their central banks, as well as the top bankers of the world, will be holding their annual summit meeting, which is taking place this year in Turkey.
Please support this call to make November 15, the first day of the G20 Summit – A World Day Against Capitalism & Racism. Endorse this call and help to plan a response in your locality.
The Next G20 summit will be the most important G20 meeting since the global financial crash of 2008. The current volatility in global financial markets is a sign that the world capitalist system is entering a new, more intractable and more violent crisis.
No matter what the official G20 meeting agenda says, the question on the next G20 summit’s agenda (which in reality is dominated by the super-rich of the U.S. and the West) will be: What must be done to rescue world capitalism and the 1% that profit from its perpetuation?
Ultimately, this means that the people of the world will be subjected to more unbearable inequality, poverty, hunger, homelessness, gentrification, neo-liberalism, austerity, more joblessness, more low wages, more war and occupation and the even greater prospect of a planet that is rapidly exhausting its capacity to sustain life.
JUST AS OMINOUS AND DANGEROUS, the deepening world economic and political crisis will create an even greater opportunity for the manifestation of racism and fascism.
The police war against Black people in the United States that has given rise to the powerful Black Lives Matter movement, as well as the war against Arab, African, Asian, Muslim, Indigenous and Latino/a migrants from the borders of Europe to the U.S.-Mexican border are examples of the intersection between capitalism and racism.
The time has come for progressive forces across the world to stand up and say that capitalism can’t be reformed and should not be saved.
We will no longer tolerate the system killing, oppressing, marginalizing, or scapegoating people of Color, Migrants, poor people, Women, Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans and Queer people, disabled people, young people and all working people.

CALL TO ACTION: Nationwide Demonstration in Solidarity with Mizzou November 12
http://www.theblacktribune.org/2015/11/09/mo-state-activist-calls-for-national-action/
MO State activist, Ravyn J. Brooks, calls for black students & allies to demonstrate in light of systemic racism in public and private academic institutions
“Dear Fellow Black Collegians & Allies:
‘We are obliged to act in times of injustice; understanding that these incidents are not isolated, but an outburst of systemic racism in public and private academic institutions, it is our duty to confront the administrations of these institutions.’ – National Black Student Caucus
As collegians, students of color, and believers in justice, we are obliged to expose the systemic oppression and racial tensions that bleed across our campuses! It is our moral duty to stand in solidarity with the black students at University of Missouri—Columbia, Concerned Student 1950, Jonathan Butler, and student-athletes on the football team in the fight for the removal of their system President, Tim Wolfe. His negligence of (therefore, participation in) the explicit racially charged and unjust events occurring on the campus since October is unacceptable. We owe solidarity to Missouri State University—Springfield, and all black students nationwide as we fight administrative neglect, abuse of power, and a lack of adequate resources.
To show solidarity, we will organize nationwide, on-campus demonstrations. We will uphold the demands issued by Mizzou students, as well as individual demands respective to our institutions. These demonstrations will be scheduled for the same day (Thursday, November 12, 2015). It is crucial that these demonstrations be organized and focused. Each campus coalition is allowed discretion over the kind of demonstration it wishes to organize; however, for the sake of unity, each demonstration should incorporate signs reading:
“#ConcernedStudent1950”
“I Support Jonathon Butler”
“#BlackCollegiateSolidarity”
“#FireTimWolfe”
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere!”
Please forward this message to as many black organizations on collegiate campuses as diligently as possible as the action is very time sensitive. We must take advantage of this momentum to let administrations all across the nation know that we are not just tokens for “diversity” and “inclusion,” and are serious about justice!
If you are interested, please e-mail me at rb.theblacktribune@gmail.com with the subject line: “Black Collegiate Solidarity Demonstration.”
Peace and Love,
Ravyn Brooks
