Calling All Concerned Community Members:
Do you know your rights when dealing with police? Do you know whats “legal” and “illegal”? If so, come get a refresher course. If not, join us as we learn our rights regarding police interactions/stops in our community.
It’s our duty to get informed, and it is equally as important to share this information with those we know and love. The info presented at the sessions will ensure that you are equipped to stop the abuse of police power in our communities. It is our goal to ensure that you are treated with dignity and respect, and treated fairly no matter your race, gender, sexuality, and/or socioeconomic status.
Session Info:

An Open Letter to the President of Ukraine Petro Oleksiyovych Poroshenko from US Citizens who Disagree with Political Repression in Ukraine
Several journalists were detained in Ukraine in the end of April, including Artem Buzila, Elena Romanova-Glischinskaya and Vitaly Didenko. They were arrested just for their belief that they have the right to express their opinions, which are different from the views of people in power. In addition, according to his lawyer, Artem Buzila has been tortured and coerced to confess to acts he has not committed…. http://tinyurl.com/pu3yvt7
