A call has been issued by the Inter-University Assembly (a strike committee involving over 80 higher education institutions across the country) for a 3 day education strike involving students but also workers, which they are also calling on other groups of workers to join in. There is talk of a 24h national strike.

As part of this appeal, a call has been issued for an international day of solidarity on November 5. Pickets are being organised outside Mexican embassies across the world by different solidarity groups.

The biggest public universities in Mexico City will hold several actions, starting on Wednesday, to demand the national government finds the 43 missing students of Ayotzinapa.

Mexican students seem to not be willing to let the government forget the 43 missing students of Ayotzinapa that were kidnapped by Iguala police, in the state of Guerrero, on the night of September 26.

Undergraduates of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), the Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM) and the Autonomous University of Mexico City (UACM) called on all Mexicans to participate in a 72 hour strike, starting on Wednesday, to pressure the government to provide more information on their missing mates…

Government prosecutors have alleged that public protests outside the Detroit federal courthouse during hearings in the case of Palestinian-American community leader Rasmea Odeh are part of a potentially “criminal” attempt at “jury tampering.”

Activists will once again pack the courtroom in Detroit on November 4th for Rasmea’s next trial date. The Milwaukee solidarity rally will stand up for first amendment free speech rights on Nov 5 and say “Solidarity is not a crime!”

Milwaukee, November 5: Mass Meeting To Discuss Dontre Hamilton Struggle For Justice

The Coalition for Justice will be hosting our second Mass Meeting on Wednesday, November 5 to discuss the Dontre Hamilton case and our commitment toward pursuing justice for our brothers and sisters who have been brutalized by reckless and negligent police officers in our community.

We will convene this mass meet at All Peoples Church (2600 N 2nd St, Milwaukee, WI) where we will hear directly from the family and the coalition for justice, our community members who want to share their voices, and discuss our goal for the upcoming fire and police commission meeting .

We would love to get as many community members in this space as possible so please invite your friends, family, and colleagues. Students and children are also welcomed. The meeting will last approximately and hour and half (6-7:30 p.m.). Please join us, and let your voice be heard. We are going to continue this fight, and we want you to be a part of securing justice in our city!
