Call Barbara McQuade at 313-226-9100 or

U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan

When you call say, “Hello, my name is ________, and I am calling from _________ to demand that U.S. Attorney McQuade drop the charges against Rasmea Odeh.”

Make the call!
Thursday, June 26, 9 am to 5 pm Eastern Time

Rasmea Odeh goes on trial in Detroit on September 8, 2014.

Our first call-in day two weeks ago had the U.S. Attorney’s office answering its phones non-stop all day, proof that Rasmea has massive community support.  Let’s keep the pressure on the prosecution!

Rasmea Odeh is a beloved leader and works tirelessly to serve and empower Palestinian, Arab American, and Muslim families in Chicago and across the country.

Rasmea is a community icon and recently won an “Outstanding Community Leader” award from the Chicago Cultural Alliance for her 40+ years of dedication and service.

Rasmea was tortured by the Israeli Military and convicted by an Israeli military kangaroo court 45 years ago. Her confession was forced by vicious physical and sexual torture. She never committed any crime, so the charges against her today are false and unjust.  These charges are a political attack on her, on her community, and on all anti-war and Palestine support activists.Call in today and support Rasmea Odeh. Demand the charges be dropped!

Also stay tuned to the United States Palestinian Community Network (uspcn.org) and the Committee to Stop FBI Repression (stopfbi.net) for regular updates.

IAC Statement on IRAQ: U.S. Caused Iraq’s present war and chaos

http://tinyurl.com/om4lyfr

With the outbreak of fighting from Mosul to Tikrit putting Iraq back onto the front burner of world media coverage and with the Obama administration threatening air strikes in Iraq once again, anti-war organizations and activists in the United States must take a clear position against further U.S. intervention of any type. Broad opposition must again be mobilized to demand:

No bombing, no military aid, no advisors and no troops to Iraq!

Cancel the Men’s Rights Conference in Detroit!

To demand Doubletree Hotel cease catering to bigots who threaten violence against women and cancel the June 27-29 conference, call Atiya Frederick, international public relations manager of Hilton Hotels, at 703-883-6599 and/or email atiya.frederick@hilton.com.

SIGN PETITION: tinyurl.com/mxvsgqn

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) declared Men’s Rights Advocates to be a hate group back in 2012. So how is it that, in 2014, the Doubletree Hotel in Detroit, MI, is going to host the first international conference for Men’s Rights?

MRAs are linked to the recent mass shooting in UCSB, wherein a young man declared that he would exact revenge on all the women who had rejected him. MRAs are linked to false rape statistics, further perpetuating the dangerous myth that women “make it up for attention.” MRAs are linked to threats of rape and murder against women who dare to speak out against them. Simply search the phrase “MRA” and you’ll see the violence, hatred, bigotry, and misogyny that MRAs support.

It is the responsibility of all people to stop the violence, and the first step is to stop the support of that violence. Tell the Doubletree Hotel that sponsoring A Voice for Men and hosting the Men’s Rights conference puts them in bed with domestic terrorism. Tell them to stop. Tell them that this is unacceptable.
