We, as the people of conscience, demand AIPAC politicians and university administration back down on their calls for the National Guard to be deployed against our students. The militaristic approach to peaceful protests against institutions complicit in genocide is a reminder of a dark moment in our history at Kent State University that resulted in the tragic death of students on campus at the hands of the federal government. We find ourselves in 2024 the very same place we were in 1970. This is a dangerous escalation during a time of heightened tension and needs to end effective immediately.
