The Palermo’s Workers Union is demanding that Palermo recognize the Palermo’s Workers Union, re-instate the workers who were fired or replaced for participating in the strike, stop threatening immigrant workers, improve unsafe working conditions and negotiate a labor contract.
Since the strike began, thousands of supporters have and continue to join the picket line, numerous fundraisers have raised thousands of dollars for the striking workers, thousands of pounds of food and beverages have been donated to the strikers and their families and much more.
The picket line schedule is: Monday through Friday: 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm and Saturday: 10 am-1 pm. at Palermo’s headquarters, 3301 W. Canal Street in Milwaukee.
Supporters are also engaging in the distribution of boycott literature to area businesses; they meet M-F at 5:30 pm at Voces de la Frontera 1027 S. 5th Street, Milwaukee and leaflet until 8 pm.
