Citizens’ Tribunal
October 22nd, Monday, 5:30 to 8 pm
DNR Building, 2300 N. MLK Dr.
With the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) under federal investigation for the Derek Williams case and the arrests of MPD officers for illegal strip and cavity searches, a Citizens’ Tribunal will be held on October 22nd from 5:30 to 8 pm at the DNR Building, 2300 N. MLK Dr.
The Citizens’ Tribunal will focus on the “patterns and practices” of the MPD in calling for a broader federal investigation of MPD civil and human rights illegalities to establish long over-due institutional reforms and the removal of Chief Flynn.
The tribunal will present a history and analysis of the MPD and document testimony from family representatives of citizens that have had their rights violated, been brutalized or killed by the police. Organizers for the tribunal are asking community members to come forward and contribute to the testimonials that will be taken that evening.
October 22nd is the 17th National Day of Protest to Stop Police Brutality and the Criminalization of a Generation and is sponsored by http://www.stolenlives.org/
