Calling All Concerned Community Members:
We have been to the Fire and Police Commission Meetings over and over, and time after time. We have repeatedly went in, shared our public comment and left. For the past 7 months, we’ve adhered to their rules and regulations about how to operate in their space. We as a community (very reasonably) asked them to set the date of the Christopher Manney Appeal hearing, to give the people of the community enough time to make the necessary adjustments in our schedules to be there.
And for 3 months, they pushed us to the side, set the date, then moved it, or put the issue onto another body of the city government. Well now we say “NO MORE.” We will not stand for that. We are holding them accountable, not only to their duties as public servants, but also to our communities who have repeatedly show’d up only to be repeatedly slapped in the face. We are coming again to tell them to set the date. We are coming again to tell them hear our complaints, and respond to them. We are coming again to tell them that they better do something about this city or we will. Set the Date, Hear Us, Respond,Change the city. RIGHT NOW.
Please come out let your presence be felt and heard.
If weather permits, we will gather at Red Arrow Park at 5pm to do our justice circle, then head over to City Hall (if not we will just meet in the atrium of City Hall). The meeting will begin promptly at 5:30pm in room 301-b. Be aware that the meeting is subject to change location. We will keep you updated. Please try to arrive as early as you can. Space is limited.
