Takiyah Thompson was the first of eight activists arrested in 2017 by Durham, N.C. police after organizing with the community to remove a racist confederate statue. Join us to hear from Takiyah along with local Chicago activists from Black Lives Matter & WWP Chicago about how they are continuing to fight white supremacy, both symbolically and practically. Come share your community’s struggles and discuss how we can work toward liberation together. Takiyah is a member of Workers World Party, a nation-wide revolutionary socialist organization.
