Racism in Healthcare Panel – Black Women Birthing

The panel will discuss the racism in the health care Black womxn receive, specifically focusing on the birthing experience. The panel will provide conversation on the ways that Black womxn’s birthing experiences have been affected by racism and the ways that racism is perpetuated through systems and individuals. The panel will also cover the work that the panelists are doing to stop/combat this issue or their understandings of solutions. Lastly, the panel will be guided by the concepts and ways of thinking of reproductive justice.

Throughout the event, we will seek to answer the questions: what can I as an individual I do? And, Who (organizations) can help me?

Our moderator will be Angela Mallet, a Milwaukee-based doula and co-founder of Honeybee Sage. She will be joined by four other exceptional community leaders:
