Join us this Thursday, July 2 at 4:30 at East High School for a teach in about Black Lives Matter. Learn more about the history behind the movement and explore movement strategy as well as our role and responsibilities as allies in the movement for Black Lives.
Black people in Madison have long been under attack, and recent events – from a white man driving his truck over Alize Carter, to the violent arrest of protesters, to a white man who literally set Althea Bernstein on fire as she sat in her car – reveals a white supremacist backlash against the movement for Black lives and an intensifying of the danger Black people face in our city.
It is far beyond time for white people in Madison to step up and do our part in defending Black life. Join us Thursday to learn about Freedom Inc’s demands and why it is imperative that we follow their lead and center the voices of groups like Urban Triage and others from communities most impacted by state violence.
“No one is free until all of us are free,” and the time is now to act!
