Confront Whitewashing in Door County ~ Chalk Event

2380 Gateway Drive, Sister Bay, WI – 11 A.M.

BLM Door County is working on several projects to confront whitewashing in Door County. On Monday and Tuesday, July 27th & 28th, we invite the community to chalk with us and support these efforts.

-We are raising money to continue distributing anti-racist literature to the Little Free Libraries of Door County.

-We are compiling personal stories and historical research to create a project detailing racist incidents in Door County throughout its beginning through present day. We hope this can help us begin to understand why Door County has served as a safe haven for predominantly white, wealthy tourists. (If you have an incident to report, please use JUST Door County Incident Report Form: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZHKWGZD)

Monday and Tuesday we will be demanding statements from city officials, local businesses, and Destination Door County.

We will be in Sister Bay from 11am-2pm with chalk, music, and signs. We hope to see you there.
