Detroit Still Rallying-Marching Against Police Brutality and Federal Troops: On Fri. Aug. 7, 2020 after more than 70 straight days of actions since May 29, people continued to take to the streets this time again in downtown. The gathering began at the McNamara Federal Building at 7:00pm. After a series of youth speakers, the crowd moved through various areas of downtown including the largely deserted LCA area, Woodward avenue to Grand Circus Park and then back to the Federal headquarters. Under the banner of Detroit Will Breathe, these protests have occurred in many neighborhoods and business districts. A heavy focus over the last week is to demand that federal agents welcomed by the corporate-imposed mayor and police chief immediately withdraw from the city. Demonstrators have condemned the shooting deaths of three African Americans by cops in July. (Photos by Abayomi Azikiwe, Pan-African News Wire).
