“Save The Post Office” Rally in Manitowoc, WI, August 25, 2020
As a part of the American Postal Workers Union National Day of Actions, labor and community organizations are sponsoring a “Save The Post Office” Rally at the Manitowoc Post Office, 1202 Franklin Street, Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 3:30 P.M. Initial sponsors of the Manitowoc event are the Crusaders of Justicia and the Wisconsin Bail Out The People Movement.
The movement for our public Postal Service has three immediate demands of our elected officials and of Postmaster General DeJoy:
– Provide at least $25 billion in immediate support for the Postal Service;
– Stop the mail slowdown policies introduced by Postmaster General DeJoy and fire him;
– Ensure public confidence in voting-by-mail by providing all necessary resources for the most timely delivery of election mail possible.
Others include: No Privatization and support for unions within the USPS.
