Madison, October 24, 2020: Pack the Polls Parade

People from over 20 communities across Wisconsin (Appleton, Beloit, Green Bay, Kenosha, Racine, Janesville, Milwaukee, the Menominee Nation, and others) are taking to the streets in their cars (the most “Covid-safe” way) to promote “Early Voting.” Early voting reduces the risk of covid transmission by spreading out the traffic at the polls and reducing concentration on election day.

In the Madison area, there will be 2 separate parades: one from the North and East, the other from the South and West. They will converge to form one large parade that will parade around the State Capitol at 3:00pm.

Each parade will stop in neighborhoods to share information about early voting and to build excitement for the fact that we are reclaiming our democracy with increased voter turnout.

Here is the start times and locations of the two Madison area parades.

N/E Parade: 9:00 am – Meet at Warner Park (Mallards Parking Lot)
2930 N. Sherman Ave.

S/W Parade: 10:00 am – Meet at Home Depot West Parking Lot (near Subway)
4550 Verona Rd.

At 1:00 pm, the two Madison Parades will converge and UNITE at the Goodman Library – 2222 S. Park – an early voting site.

Madison’s parades will be linked to the other parades around the state via a Zoom connection (link below) that will be open to the press and the general public between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm. Portions of this Zoom connection will be shared on social media via Facebook Live at https://www.facebook.com/buildingunitywi.

Between 1:00pm and 2:00pm, parades around the state will take turns sharing about their community’s activities. At 2:00pm, we will hold a statewide press conference on this same Zoom connection.Unite for Democracy – Pack the Polls Parade – Zoom Connection
